The label “Social and solidarity economy enterprise”

How to obtain the label of a Social and Solidarity Economy Enterprise?

Law No. 30-2020 of June 30, 2020, clearly defines this label and promotes such enterprises.

This label is granted to any enterprise that meets the following characteristics :

"- Cooperatives, including mutual agricultural service companies subject to Law No. 2005-94 of October 18, 2005,
- Development groups in the agriculture and maritime fishing sectors,
- Mutual associations,
- Microfinance associations subject to the provisions of the present law,
- Mutual insurance companies, provided they comply with the provisions of the present law,
- Associations governed by Decree-Law No. 2011-88 of September 24, 2011, engaged in economic activities with a social purpose,
- Companies, except single-member limited liability companies,
- Economic interest groups, provided they comply with the provisions of the present law,
- Any private legal entity that the legislator may create, provided it complies with the provisions of the present law."

"The social and solidarity economy aims to :
- Achieve a balance between the demands of economic profitability and the values of volunteerism and social solidarity,
- Promote social justice and equitable wealth distribution,
- Formalize the informal economy,
- Ensure economic and social well-being and improve the quality of life."

These enterprises can benefit from specific financing and guarantee mechanisms, as well as credit lines allocated to them through banks or financial institutions. 

They may also be eligible for specific financial and tax advantages through subsequent government decrees.
