The Presidency of the Tunisian Government issued a government decree No. 17 on 12/05/2020 regarding the creation of a unique citizen identifier.

This identifier is managed in a special registry maintained by the Ministry of social affairs.

The identifier is granted to any individual holding Tunisian nationality (whether in Tunisia or abroad).

Tne information contained in the identifier is secure and must be stored for a minimum of 30 years after the citizen's death or loss of nationality.
