The new head of government has implemented a list of measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus in Tunisia.

Thus, starting from Monday, October 5, 2020, and for a duration of two weeks, the following measures will come into effect :

• Single session work and team-based work shifts in public administrations. The details were presented by the Ministry of Public Service, which published the new schedule on Sunday, October 4, 2020. The new administrative hours will apply from Tuesday, October 6, 2020, until October 31, 2020.

          Employees will work single shifts of 5 hours in alternating teams from Monday to Friday, divided as follows :

            -First shift : From 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM

           -Second shift : From 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM

         The ministry specifies that these working hours do not apply to security forces, military personnel, customs agents, healthcare workers, and staff in educational institutions..

• Mandatory wearing of masks in enclosed spaces and within government offices 
• Ban on all types of gatherings
• Targeted lockdowns in the most affected delegations
• Strict enforcement of health protocols in cities classified as red zones
• Continuation of classes in educational institutions
• Classification of COVID-19 as an occupational disease
• Increase in the number of intensive care beds to 1,200 in coordination with the private sector
